WHO WE ARE

GLENROWAN STUDY CENTRE is an educational project incorporating a small hall of residence in Auckland, New Zealand. It aims to provide future leaders of the 21st Century with wide perspectives beyond their particular specialisation, enabling them to use their abilities responsibly and generously.

Founded in 1999, Glenrowan is a project of Education Sponsorship Trust (EST), whose aim is to promote excellence in education and human endeavour. EST runs several projects for the academic and personal development of the New Zealand youth. For more information about EST and its other initiatives, please visit the website here.

The Centre is located in Grafton near the University of Auckland’s main campus, the School of Medicine and Auckland University of Technology. The activities of the Centre are open to young men of all races, religions, and social backgrounds.

> CHRISTIAN ETHOS

Glenrowan is open to students of all religious denominations. Students are expected to respect and understand other residents’ beliefs and live according to the standards of behaviour which are compatible with the Christian ethos of the residence.

> OPUS DEI

Glenrowan has its own Chapel and all activities of a spiritual nature are entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church. St Josemaria Escriva founded Opus Dei, meaning “Work of God” in Latin, in 1928. Its mission is to promote a deep awareness of the universal call to holiness among people of all walks of life through their daily activities. In other words, finding God in your everyday life.
